A long-term epidemiological study suggested Paxil had an overall higher risk of major congenital malformations compared to other antidepressants. The FDA said healthcare professionals, as a result of the study's findings, should carefully weigh potential risks and benefits of Paxil in women during pregnancy.

A Paxil injury can be experienced by individuals, who are taking Paxil and other medications at the same time as Patients have a greater chance of suffering a Paxil injury when they mix their treatment with similar medications. Individuals that are presently taking a MAO Inhibitor, or have taken this kind of drug within fourteen days of Paxil treatment, should not take Paxil. Patients who drink alcohol while taking Paxil may also risk a greater possibility of suffering a Paxil injury.

There are some people that should not take Paxil since the risk of suffering a Paxil injury is too great. Individuals with a history of liver or kidney troubles should take Paxil with caution. Due to the risk of Paxil injury, these individuals usually require a lower dose and regular screening of their condition. People who have an adverse reaction to drugs similar to Paxil may be at a greater risk of a Paxil injury. Individuals under 18 are advised not to take Paxil, and older patients should be carefully monitored for Paxil injury while taking this drug. Pregnant woman that have a history of seizures, or plan to go under anesthesia while taking Paxil, may be at an increased risk of suffering from a Paxil injury.

There is a number of ways Paxil injuries can be suffered. A Paxil injury can be brought about by an overdose of this drug. A Paxil overdose can lead to serious renal failure. Renal failure entails the unexpected loss of the kidney's capacity to excrete wastes, concentrate urine, and conserve electrolytes. A Paxil injury can also be caused by the addictive nature of this prescription medication. A Paxil injury withdrawal can last for one to three months after a person ends their treatment and can cause significant patient suffering.

If you've taken Paxil within the last 3 years and suffered from its debilitating withdrawal symptoms or you were otherwise injured by its side effects, you need to contact a qualified Paxil lawyer. Experts estimate an even larger number of Paxil lawsuits have not been filed yet since patients that have not yet tried to get off of Paxil may not realize their addiction and withdrawal.

The number of U.S. children taking antidepressants has more than doubled since the early 1990s. This is around the time when the SSRI class of antidepressant drugs (Celexa, Paxil, Prozac and Zoloft) replaced older antidepressants in its widespread use. In 2002, an estimated 2.1 million Paxil prescriptions were written alone.
